Set on the cliffs of Dorset’s dramatic coastline, Pennsylvania Castle Estate provides the perfect backdrop for events and weddings throughout the year.
The Setting
Pennsylvania Castle Estate’s clifftop setting provides charming views of Church Ope Cove and UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coastline. The neo-gothic design of the Castle effortlessly combines intimacy, elegance and grandeur, beautifully refurbished with a modern look and feel. Moving through the grounds over sweeping manicured lawns, the beautiful Italian Garden & romantic English Rose Garden provide a secluded area to enjoy the best of the evening sunshine for after dinner cocktails and garden games.
Ceremony
Here at Pennsylvania Castle Estate there are several hopelessly romantic ceremony spaces to choose from. So, whether your wedding is a large scale occasion, or a more discreet affair there’s a space to suit your needs.
Choose from an indoor ceremony in beautiful The Orangery, with large french windows leading out onto the terrace. Or take your ceremony outdoors to the Pagoda, situated on our sweeping lawn with dramatic sea views, the Olive Garden with its exquisitely manicured planting and more secluded feeling, or the roof terrace at Clifftops with one of the best views of the channel, and looking back up to the castle.
Many of the rooms in the Castle are licensed for ceremonies, so we can help design the perfect backdrop to your vows.
Dining and Entertaining Spaces
Much of the Estate is perfect for entertaining, with sweeping lawns, secluded spaces and stunning sea views. And, when it comes to dining there are plenty of options to choose from.
The Dining room can be set out for a more formal space for your wedding feast and The Orangery can create a wonderful sun lit space, with views out over the lawns, and french windows so you and your guests can spill out to the Terrace.
For drinks before the ceremony (and after) the two terraces, at the Castle and at Clifftops, provide views and space to enjoy. And, once the wedding feast is over, you can continue to entertain guests in the luxury surroundings of the Castle, both inside and out.

floristry & styling
The Penn Creative Collection can take care of all florals and styling for you, from large-scale installations to smaller more intimate offerings. Our styling & events manager, Tessa will work with you to understand your vision and bring your ideas to life, whilst really understanding what styling is needed across your event spaces to truly create an immersive and atmospheric experience for all your guests. All floral arrangements are created in-house by Tessa and her team, using carefully selected blooms and sustainable practices where possible.
Accommodation
Pennsylvania Castle and Clifftops Lodges are hired on a minimum two-night exclusive basis, accommodating up to 40 guests.
Pennsylvania Castle sleeps up to 20, within 9 en-suite rooms and Clifftops an additional 20 across 10 bedrooms in 5 luxury self-catering lodges.
