Real Wedding: The Cupids
Wedding season at Pennsylvania Castle has begun with a Valentine’s Day wedding for Mr. and Mrs. Cupid (we know, right?!). Their winter wedding celebration also marked the very first wedding under our brand new ceremony spot, The Olive Garden.
One of our favorite aspects of Pennsylvania Castle Estate is how the changing seasons provide a unique and beautiful backdrop. While the coastal location is perfect for a summer wedding, the stormy sea paired with the Castle’s cosy interiors, fireplaces, and spacious indoor entertaining areas creates a dreamy setting for a winter wedding. We truly admire that Maddie and Clint embraced the weather.
We were thrilled to receive a sneak peek of their images, captured by the wonderful HFP Photography, and caught up with the newly married couple to reflect on the occasion.

First of all, what made you choose to get married at Pennsylvania Castle?
We had several requirements: a venue by the sea that could accommodate the ceremony, reception, and accommodation all in one place, along with some Caribbean vibes. With its palm trees, sea views, and waterfall, Penn had it all!
How did you find the planning process once you had booked your wedding with us?
We had a very quick wedding, and the planning process was straightforward, even though we planned it across two different countries! We had confidence in the Penn team, and everything fell into place perfectly!

What was your favourite part of your wedding day, if you had to pick just one?
We both agreed that the best part was walking down the aisle and seeing each other. After our bridal party danced down the aisle, the sweet flower girls handed out Valentine’s Day roses, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

You had planned an outdoor ceremony from the start of your preparations. Did the weather cause any issues?
It was cold, but it added to the atmosphere of being a winter wedding! We prepared our guests for the outdoor wedding, advising them to dress warmly and appropriately. Penn provided guests with blankets and emergency umbrellas!

Is there anything you chose to do differently, or anything that made your day extra special?
We were the first couple to marry under the olive tree at Penn Castle! The olive tree symbolizes luck in many cultures and marks the beginning of our love story, as we first met in Bahrain.
We invited family and friends from all over the world to our wedding, and we mixed our guests during both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. After the ceremony, we spent most of our time indoors. The atmosphere at Penn Castle felt like a giant house party, allowing everyone to get to know one another. By the end of the night, we had all become one big, happy family, dancing with strangers who had turned into friends!
What advice would you give to other couples considering having their wedding at Pennsylvania Castle?
Trust in your vendors! We didn’t sweat the small stuff and just trusted our vendors that they knew best, remember they have done hundreds of weddings. I genuinely believe this is why our day ran so seamlessly.

Thank you, Mr & Mrs Cupid, for allowing us to share your special day.
