Eating Out

If you’re looking to eat out on the island during your stay there are lots of local pubs, cafes and restaurants for you to try:

Hayloft Coffee Shop & Bar

The Estate Coffee Shop is open all year with our coffee, pastries, soups and savouries sourced from Dorset producers. Along with our Penn Estate Gin you can purchase everything for takeaway.  It is also home to the Penn Creative Collection shop with wonderful seasonal homeware.

Billy Winters

Billy Winter’s is a beach bar & diner, with stunning views across Weymouth Bay and beyond. Authentic quality food, cocktails and coffees served all day.

The Boat that Rocks, Portland Marina

A Café, Bar & Restaurant right on the edge of the water at Portland Marina. The Boat that Rocks has plenty of seating, indoors and out, perfect all year round, whatever the weather.

Crab House Cafe, Wyke Regis

The Crab House Cafe looks out over Chesil beach and has its own Portland Oyster beds just a stone’s throw from the restaurant so you can enjoy fresh Oysters on your table within minutes of them leaving the water. Serving whole crabs to crack and an excellent fish menu, it has had the nod of approval from Rick Stein as well as the Observer and broadsheet supplements.

Cove House Inn, Chiswell

The Cove House Inn offers a friendly, cosy atmosphere with the most spectacular views straight out across Chesil beach. Freshly prepared, pub food from its menu and specials board is available 7 days a week, with locally caught fish and seafood a regular feature.

The George Inn, Easton

The George Inn is one of the oldest inhabited buildings on the island. Once home to The Court Leet, this authentic pub is now a family run community local, serving an ever changing selection of real ales, great ciders and good pub food with an enclosed beer garden.

Quiddles Cafe, Chiswell

Tucked at the end of Chesil beach, Quiddles Cafe & Bar has indoor or outdoor seating right on the edge of the beach. Quiddles has a varied menu showcasing fresh seafood dishes, all enjoyed with an exceptional view.

Taste Chesil, Chesil Beach

Located in the Chesil Beach Visitor Centre and looking onto the Fleet Lagoon with an abundance of birdlife, Taste Chesil serves a wide variety of homemade and locally sourced food.

White Stones, Easton

An Art Café Gallery located in Easton, just a short walk away from Cove Park, with fine food and refreshments. White Stones has an emphasis on local produce, a courtyard garden and a range of gifts, books, art prints and cards available.
